Started up in the wooded section, I had 6 barbel and 1 chub in morning on feeder and pellet but Steve did not have a bite so we moved down to the meadow in the afternoon where then steve had 5 barbel (including a personal best of 10lb 8oz), 2 chub and an eel. I finished the day with 9 barbel and 4 chub, all fish were good size.

A little bit of extra water in the morning, which was gone by the evening. All fish taken on small north country spiders. Best trout 10". Very enjoyable day but a little more water would help.

First time on this beat so took a while searching the different stretches. Beautifu river in good condition and delightful woodside path. Had 2 from flats on black nymph. Few yellow and brown small uprights hatching but only small fish sporadically interested and couldnt get fish to rise to a variety of dries. Returned to nymph working down flats and had several more- beautiful well conditioned fighting fish. Superb beat with excellent fishing. Thank you

A new beat to both of us. Easy to find. Arrived at 7am and found a rising coloured river that started to drop back around mid day. Caught from the start on standard feeder and pellet tactics. PM managed a total of 9 Barbel to 9lb 8oz a total of approx 65lb. SR had 8 to 8lb 14oz and a total approx 45lb. A good average size.
Sport stopped between 11.30am and 2pm as we have found in the past but this did coincide with activity on the far bank. Plenty of water to explore.
Caught up until 6pm then retired to the pub. A very good day. Thank you.

Arrived at 8am to find the river looking good after some rain at the weekend. We selected a comfortable swim for the pair of us and I landed a 9lb barbel on the second cast! We got some great advice from Don, Tony netted a 4.5lb barbel and lost a couple more fish, so we decided to try other swims as the sun had now come out. Early afternoon I had another 9lb barbel and a 4lb and 4.5lb chub. By early evening we were sunburnt but the action was more consistent and I managed another 4 barbel, including another 9lb fish and a number of chub.
A great day on the Wye with good size barbel - 6 fish for 50lb - on a great stretch and I gave Tony a taste of his own medicine following the pasting I received on the first outing of the season!

7 Barbel, 8 Chub
