Fished literally half an hour at lunch break. 1 x 6 inch trout, missed another two. A few more very small fish spotted in the pools. The easiest place to access the river is at Fishtec tackle shop. Park in their car park and then go down the embankment just above the road bridge onto the river bank.

1 Trout

Great day but no luck. Some surfacing in earlier afternoon. One small fish hooked but got away!

No fish this time but had one take. Some evidence of LDOs and sedges hatching.

Nice day beautiful beat. No fish.

Thank you for your e-mail and my lovely day on this great stretch of water. The fishing was tough as the water is so low and it was very bright all day. However, having the beat to myself meant I could concentrate on streamy shady water where there were plenty of trout in residence and managed 13 fish with 3 around a pound.
Most fish took a partridge and orange. All were returned. Many thanks.

13 Trout

Bright sunny and hot, water low and gin clear so not easy but good response to long line (French) nymphing. Surprisingly sparse hatch, few LDO,a few March brown and very few rises even later in the day. However, no complaints with 10 trout all taken on a small black tungsten head nymph. All a good size and largest to 14 ins.

Lovely sunny day but cold wind blowing upstream. Only 1 rise seen all afternoon despite sporadic hatches. Nil caught.
