The river was surprisingly clear after the recent rain with rising fish along the whole beat however fish were particularly selective and feeding just below the surface for most of the day. Casting into the wind with light tackle made for a challenging day. I took 6 trout biggest 12" and lost 2 really good sized fish, one due to operator error with a poorly tied tapered leader conversion...duh! The other, to a smart fish who shook itself off.
In a month or so the banks will be very difficult to struggle through because of vegetation. Thanks to all at WUF.

A nice day to be on the river and some decent fishing too. We took fish in the morning on nymphs (GRHE & olive jig nymph) and in the afternoon on various dries.

A warm overcast day with a slight rise on the river and a little colour. Plenty of flies hatching from the early afternoon on, LDO's and various sedges and duns I didn't recognise. Fished a duo and caught 7 trout on the nymph, 2 of them around the 1lb mark, the rest a fair bit smaller - all returned. Lost three more and missed two rises to the dry. Also saw a salmon jump in LLangoed pool. A really enjoyable day.

Started at the bottom of the beat and worked our way up about half way before the wind changed and turned cold.
Sporadic hatch throughout but trout more than willing to come up for a klinkhammer fished in the faster parts of the pools/runs. No monsters, biggest about a pound but good fun.
