Darlington Brown Trout offers 1½ miles of good trout, grayling and salmon fishing on the Tees. The stretch is from the Middleton-In-Teesdale Cattle Auction Market, downstream to Lune Mouth. This is a lovely piece of water with a real character. The majority of the this is tree lined. FLY ONLY

Wading is average and care must always be taken, a wading staff is always advisable. Please take care when near the steep sides of the river bank. The Tees can be a fast rising river, so please take care to check on-line river levels and the weather reports before venturing out.

For brown trout, all the water fishes exceptionally well with spiders, nymphs and dry fly. Fishing with a 9ft to 10ft rod, line rating #3/4/5 is the perfect choice of rod. For salmon, the option of Switch rods to 14ft salmon rods will be ideal, and low water doubles with a mixture of tubes works well for varied conditions. The winter grayling sport is excellent.
