Quick afternoon visit before it gets too overgrown.
Water level still good this far down stream.
There's been a lot of tree felling work going on the opposite bank which has improved access nicely.
Not much to report on the fishing front only managed 1 on a nymph down near the weir.
Looking forward to mayfly time down there.

Tough day on this short beat with low water. Had couple of hard won fish from the deeper spots.

Fished for nearly two hours in the afternoon. Warm day at 18C, water 8C.
It's been a few years since I was on this brook. It felt like there were more trees down and debris than I remember. A few pools weren't really fishable any more and some of the old stonework had been removed. Despite the lack of rain there was a milky tinge to the water - I assume some work going on up towards Cannop ponds where I hear they are trying to restore a more natural flow.
Not much moving, a handful of very tiny fish swirling sub surface on two of the millpond flat pools. Nothing on nymphs, dries or emergers. A spider across the current on the only bend big enough to do so (the rest of the brook is pretty straight and requires casting straight up the channel) resulted in a tiny trout just wider than the palm of my hand.

Did not fish Saturday or Sunday due to extreme access to the River to dangerous for a 80 & 60 year olds.

Fishing Passport Note : Access on the rivers during this spell of very low water can be more of a challenge than usual. We are always happy to advise on fisheries that are suitable for all abilities.

Zero return on this date.
Glorious day on the water with a few strong hatches.
A hand full of rising fish on the middle section but very sparse.
In hind sight, should have spent more time on the uppermost pool.
Will book this beat again but possibly on a day not so sunny and not on a school holiday Saturday!
