Very hot day, the chub seem to be holding their own at the moment. Lost a massive eel at the bank.

Gave the Arrow at Kington a bash this afternoon , been a long week of shifts , up at four , and hot hot weather , so nice to skulk up the lovely Arrow , searching for rising fish !!! Was about four when I parked up at the bridge , reading 25 degrees in my truck and bright sun , maybe tricky , but still nice to be out . . . Some rises so nice to see , and as usual the feisty Arrow brownies obliged to a small Para Greenwells , splashy rises , great fun as always here . . . .

Fish were the usual colours of the Arrow fish , lovely red spots too . . . Gorgeous , cheers up your day that's for sure , and sizes ranged from six to ten inches , a nice wind down yo be honest . . .

Seems a favoured spot of buzzards , as last year had a close encounter with a young bird keeping cool near the river , well again they were local to the river , except this time youngsters flapping in the trees above , three I think I saw , and the adults giving them a real telling off !!!!!!! Still great fun yo watch for a while . . . .

Well a fun relaxing two and a half hours , six crackers to hand , which I was pleased about in the bright hot conditions . Water levels in the Arrow getting low again , could almost do with a good nights rain again . . . . . Nice couple of hours , back soon , happy days !!!!!

What a contrast to Strangford yesterday. Struggled on the coloured river. Small chub to stick and corn. 1 big eel to feeder. Angler on far bank had 2 barbel- he was on the bank early. We didn’t start until 9.30 and packed up at 2 .30 for the long journey home. Some of the middle swims looked nice so maybe worth another go. Hot bright conditions didn’t help.

Started fishing at 1:00pm and fished the whole beat finishing around 6:00pm. Caught 12 plus WBT from 5 and 10 inches, all plump and well fed. All to a size 14 Para Adams. Many more rose and missed.
Weather warm and sunny, river getting lower but in good condition.

Hot and sunny, ......chub just under 5. Several fish lost to snags. Canoeists mainly sensible and careful, some perhaps not recognising others use the river.

Started just after lunchtime in the blazing sunshine but we managed to catch using steady tactics with light feeding.
No prolific feeding spell, just picking fish off here and there.
Lots of wildlife, a barking deer in the wood behind us, 65 Canada geese in front, Kingfishers and buzzard active, baby swans learning the ropes. One of my favourite beats and remains so. Best fish was 3oz short of a celebration.

14 Barbel, 3 Chub
