River still high and most swims unfishable. Had a Barbel after 45 mins and a Chub mid day. 2nd Chub came late on with all fish caught on pellet and feeder. Not an easy day but at least a sunny day to take in the surroundings and at least my season did not end with a blank. Stayed overnight at the Falconhouse B & B for the 1st time and can recommend highly added to which it is only a short drive from this beat.

River still a little high and swims limited due to the flow, so we looked for the slower moving water on the downstream end of the beat. One of us lost 3 fish to snags and hook pulls and the other two spent the day enjoying the views and half decent weather for a change. It just wasn’t to be our day! Good stretch and easy access. Hoping for better luck in the new season.

Arrived mid afternoon not expecting to fish due to high level. Managed to find one swim with some slack and after an hour had first Barbel followed by another next cast. No action after that. Both caught on Double 8mm pellets and feeder tactics.

River in flood and just fishable in only a few swims. Both fish fell to legered luncheon meet in same swim during a one hour period . Otherwise biteless and we eventually retired to pub to escape increasing hostile wind.

River up about 1.5m when I arrived and rose a further metre during the day and turned more and more brown with lots of tree debris coming through. Roamed around to find two barbel, both caught on pellets. Only a couple of swims fishable by the time I left. Excellent way to finish the season.
