Very nice and picturesque beat. River in excellent condition. Slow action but managed to catch 1 Barbel around 10 lb (77 cm) and 2 nice Chubs.

2'7" dropping to 2'3" through the day. Water 52oF, slight stain. Fished sink tips and sinking lines. Nothing seen and no offers.
The new parking arrangement is very simple and works well. As expected all planks are very slippery!

Fished the Legg Meadow section and really struggled. I'm not an experienced river angler and struggled a bit with managing the flow and the amount of debris coming down.
Managed a baby Barbel around 10am, but the sun came out and while another angler seemed to catch steadily I couldn't find the fish. Had a small Chub just on dusk but that was my lot.
Lovely surroundings and I'll be back with a score to settle soon enough.

When the river is high Wyebank becomes problematic and the croys were nowhere to be seen when we arrived....Despite the testing conditions the fish were feeding as clearly the slight drop in water over the past couple of days helped our cause.
Much to our delight we managed to catch some cracking Dace some of which were in the the 8 to 10oz bracket a few nice chub and a couple of good Barbel over 7lb.
The boat traffic was lighter than usual due to the adverse conditions and clearly some people are braver than us....We observed a young couple paddle down the racing river together on a bodyboard with no life jackets on and the lad was wearing chest waders!! Each to their own I guess...

Been hoping for a little rain for the last few weeks, the trouble is there is never a happy medium! River very high indeed and rich muddy Brown so kept myself warm and dry. Perhaps try again in a couple of days but I see more rain forecast for the end of the week. On the optimistic side though, at least the water should encourage a few fish up river
