1 x 10 inch trout, lots of salmon parr and one heavy trout lost during play. Given the ticket price, the fence crossing arrangements on this beat really could use some improvement - maybe fit proper stiles?

Beautiful conditions, hazy sun with light breeze downriver. All fish on teams of spiders or GRHE swung down and across. Tried dry fly upstream but nothing doing. Very productive in the faster water at the top of the beat. Caught a wbt on spider and oos grayling on GRHE at the same time! First time this has happened to me. All wbt 8-10". Excellent access when the river is at this height.

Again nothing to report. The river is visibly going down while we have been here for the last three days, rain is badly needed.

A couple of nibbles, brook levels good, wish I had brought waders. Lots of electric fences overland (with access points) Lots of inquisitive cows near Knill farm. I fished from noon to 16.30. Fishing apart a great part of the world and a relaxing afternoon.

River very clear. Very strong wind and hardly any fly. Few rises. Dry fly caught all the trout. Nymph did not work for us. Most trout 7” to 9” with one better one. No trout killed.

Area:Upland Llyns

Beat:Llyn Bugeilyn

Fishing:Trout (Stillwater)

No. of Anglers:1

First trip of the year to Bugeilyn, track is passable only if you have high clearance, from barn and past old farm worst bits. The walk in is fine. Very windy conditions for much of the day so stuck with wets, Mallard&claret and Diawl Bach accounted for the fish. Usual fast takes and hard fights, most taken at top end of lake later in day after wind calmed down a bit.
