Last day of 4 on the Wye so a short one due to the drive home. River up a metre overnight and a nice colour too. We had two good barbel, and a chub.

2 Barbel, 1 Chub

River up over a metre and carrying a lot of floating weed and other debris. Difficult fishing, not helped by increasingly wet and windy weather. No bites in two swims for five hours and thought I might blank, but saved by a couple of barbel at the very end of the day.

River was rising all day and conditions were difficult but we managed 6 Barbel between the two of us.

No fish caught today! River looked in good condition but the weather was very windy... Maybe that had something to do with it!

Virtually no sign of fish and not a single rise in whole time fishing, but caught one trout on flashback hare's ear (26 cms) and one on holy grail (34cms).

2 Trout

Hardly fished at all,. as had spent time fishing beat mentioned in previous return but did walk up the stream without spotting a single rise or sign of fish.

Wet fly fishing. Conditions overcast with some sunshine. River clear and I am told slightly fuller than recently. Fish rising but nothing caught by our two rods

Lots of anglers on far bank meaning some swims could not be fished. Hard going.

3 Barbel, 2 Chub

Fish not interested. Cold water coming into river will not have helped.

Barbel between 3 to 6.5lbs caught on meat and pellet over hemp groundbait
