located below Y Garn and Glyder Fawr 373m above sea level, approximately 800m long and 300m across. Water depth on the margins of the lake varies significantly. Wading should only be attempted with extreme caution in the shallows, however anglers must be aware that the lake bed falls away steeply in places. Bank fishing is a necessity for most of the water. The walk up to Idwal, takes a well-built stony path of approximately 1km in length in about and at a medium pace takes about 20 minutes. Natural wild brown trout (lake trout) only in this lake up to 1lb. Very occassionally, a wild fish of up to 1.5lb is caught.

Two more lakes can be fished with this ticket - Llyn Idwal and Ffynnon Lloer. No night fishing is allowed but fishing is allowed to continue into the following day, up to 24 hours from the time you started fishing.
