Approximately 1.25 miles of single (right) bank fishing on the River Wye, 9 miles downstream of Builth Wells. The beat comprises a variety of fishing with a number of famous and productive salmon pools. The trout and grayling fishing is also excellent in this part of the Wye. There are plenty of opportunities on both Upper and Lower sections, perhaps the upper being the better of the two. Large chub are the main quarry for coarse anglers.
The beat operates an am/pm split. This ensures that nobody will be fishing the same pool as you from the opposite (Llanstephan) bank.
