Hard fishing today, the flood a few weeks ago has really washed away most of the swims and created new ones in places. The bottom seemed littered with debris and between me and my fishing pal we lost 10 feeders. We cut out new swims by doing a bit of gardening hoping the next 2 days would pick up

Plenty of small grayling around on this evidence. Fished the deeper runs with a Pink Tag. Hooked a lovely out of season trout (14”). Beautiful beat.

Couldn’t make it happen today. No rising fish and no joy subsurface. Both fish 13” to #16 Para Adams
at the start of the day. Too bad, river conditions ideal except for catching leaves every other cast!

Fishing very slow again. One barbel between three of us. Real shame after the long trip down from Manchester.

The river looked in good condition, back to normal autumn levels. A little chilly first thing but the temperature rose and by midday the sun broke through. I fished from 8am - 4.30pm with not a single bite, using a variety of baits, but the fish were either not where I was fishing or maybe affected by a drop in water temperature. I was visited by the resident Otter and watched the Kingfishers flying low over the water, so plenty of wildlife to keep me occupied. Before packing up for the day I decided to switch tackle and float fish some dead bait, which resulted ten minutes later in a Pike 12lb 8oz. Always a pleasant day fishing at How Caple Court.

River running clear and cold. Very blustery with leaves falling all day. All fish returned safely. A lovely beat.

3 bites 3 very good chub. river conditions looked ideal, tried various sizes and flavour of pellets/boilies using both feeder and weight with PVA bag also wrapped paste pellet but no luck to tempt a barbel. One of those days.
